Baby Registry Recommendations

As a mom of 4 and a breastfeeding specialist, I have gone through so.many. baby products. You really don’t need much but you might be surprised by what you do actually need! Below are items I highly suggest for your baby registry. Either I have used them myself or they come highly recommended from experts and other mothers. Happy shopping!

Sleep eye mask. For naps at any time of day!

Adult diapers. The mesh panties and giant pad will not cut it. Trust me.

Tux pads. Your bottom will praise this cooling relief!

Peri bottle. Make sure you take this home from the hospital or grab one from Target!

Lanolin nipple cream. Trusted for centuries and you will only need one tube ever.

Waterproof mattress protector. Postpartum is full of leaks of all kinds.

Muslin cotton burp cloths will stand the test of time and so.much. fluid!

Real Food for Pregnancy by Lily Nichols, RDN. An indispensable guide for all things nutrition for new mothers.

For baby…

Solly Wrap or soft-structured carrier like Ergobaby or Tula. Keep your baby close and you even breastfeed in this with a little practice. Reach out if you need help getting started with these, happy to come by and help you adjust.

Bamboobies. These are the softest most magical nursing pads. I recommend using disposable at first and then graduating to Bamboobies when your supply settles down.

Ikea high chair, $19. Please do not get an expensive high chair. This is all you need, trust me! I got this one at a yard sale and used it for all 4 kids!

4 in 1 car seat. These are often the same price as infant car seats but they are used for longer! More carseat info from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

For home…

Nursing basket. To hold all these essentials in one place.

Removable shower head. This makes postpartum showers and quick baths for baby so much easier.

Milk collector. You do NOT want a silicone milk collector with suction, as it can cause over-production issues, but this one collects on the opposite side without the suction.
